About Gem

Hey guys, I am Gem.  I am an Essex girl originally but I now live near Pontefract in West Yorkshire with my husband and 2 teenagers.

I founded Lasting Touch in 2013, although I have been in business selling different kinds of jewellery sinse 1998. 

Lasting Touch was originally started as a way for me to generate an income whilst supporting my husband in his career choice to become a paramedic.  I am incredibly proud of him, but the shifts associated with his type of work do certainly impose challenges on family life!

I absolutely love working for myself. It has allowed me to be creative and flexible, both with my own family and my customers.   I love that what I do is so personal and I can give my customers something that actually makes a difference to how how they feel.   

Alongside running Lasting Touch I also work a few hours a week in my local village Post Office. Working from home on my own can be a bit isolating, so just those few hours a week getting out of the house and to not be in business mode does me a world of good.  Plus I'm able to do my posting whilst I am there!!
